051 Homeopathic or Homeopathetic, a Frank Discussion about Homeopathy

Ep. 51 Blog 01

You may have heard of homeopathy or know someone who swears by it. With so many differing opinions on the matter, we decided to dive a little deeper into the world of homeopathy, what it is, and if it could be right for you.

Perhaps a topic that will raise some controversy. We’ll be discussing the good, the bad and the ugly of homeopathy with an expert in the field, Dr. Joseph Kepo’o.

Dr. Joseph Kepo’o has his undergraduate degree in exercise science. He then went on to receive a degree in chiropractic biophysics. Dr. Joe also has advanced certifications in NAET, EVOX or perception reframing, the emotion code, the body code, energetic medicine and Zyto biocommunication. He has great expertise on both sides of the fence in the world of medicine. Being a close friend, he has helped me personally with many physical issues over the years.
Homeopathic remedies are remedies that are usually made up of water. It’s believed that a homeopathic basically contains the memory of a particular remedy within it. Back in the late 1700’s, Dr. Heinemann discovered through a series of tests, that a patient would respond to a very diluted strain of herbal remedies and still have a therapeutic response.

So why dilute it at all? Well, as you dilute the herbs, it creates more of a potent remedy without the negative side effects that you otherwise would get. Many vaccines are actually modeled after this same idea! So, it is what makes homeopathy so amazing that is also what critics choose to attack.

One of the advantages of having a scientific mind and working in homeopathy is knowing the difference between the good and the bad stuff out there.

Ep. 51 Quote 1 01
The bad-
Most of the rubbish homeopathic practices that Dr. Joe comes across are small end clinics, run by people who don’t have the adequate knowledge of homeopathy. They run largely off of the placebo effect with their patients. Be aware of these clinics and make sure they are running homeopathy through the proper channels.
The good-

Two large-scale companies Dr. Joe works with are Deseret Biologicals, based in Utah and Physica Energetics, which is located in Oregon. They run their products through a series of practices to make sure everything is sanitary and pure. The products are then put through a potentizing process that energizes the substance. They have the resources to run tests on their products as well as the patients they treat and have seen incredible results.

Do they actually work?

First off, we should say that homeopathy is like supplementation or drugs in that not everything will work the same way for everyone. There is specialized technology that is used to prescribe the proper homeopathic remedies. This equipment is used along with the understanding and discretion of the doctor prescribing it.

Homeopathic products seem to have an almost religious following, it seems to me that some people will have a placebo effect just because they believe so strongly. As in all things, it is good to find a balance.
The instant I see someone say that there is something that can cure everything, I get a little worried. Everyone responds differently to treatment and there isn’t a silver bullet option out there.
Ep. 51 Quote 2 01

Be open to all of the options of receiving help in the medical arena.
Where homeopathy get it right, and why?
-Homeopathy is amazing for reducing the effect and duration of the cold and flu. This is one thing that you should be using homeopathy for if you are not already.
-Another thing is “gut issues” and digestive problems. A healthy gut affects many other aspects of your health so this could be a great option.
-Helping a baby is colic is another area that Dr. Joe has seen a lot of success with.
-Allergies such as the hay fever can diminish with the right homeopathic treatment.
Areas in which the homeopathic industry goes wrong?
-Skin issues such as psoriasis and eczema. It seems that it never really gets to the core of the problem.
-In his own practice, he is on the fence when it comes to treating mental illness using homeopathic methods.

-Homeopathic vitamins are another thing that is not quite convincing in doing everything they say they will do.

At the end of the day, the only way to measure whether someones homeopathic is working is to apply it in a clinical setting and see the results that happen with the patient.

Ep. 51 Quote 3 01
There is current legislation intended to regulate the homeopathic industry. Within the last ten years, there has been a spike in people not using homeopathic the way that they should. With the new legislation, the FDA and the United States Government will be able to make sure practices stay safe and use homeopathy the way it should be.

Homeopathy is a fairly inexpensive alternative that just may help your situation if you would give it a chance. It may be wise to take an agnostic stance on homeopathic treatments and see how you respond to them.

If you are one who is looking to take advantage of it and avoid those things that would waste your money, follow this advice: Be open to it, find a good doctor who uses it themselves, then give it a shot.
