Why Not Real Milk?
When I was first trying to get pregnant I was having some problems so I went to a doctor and she recommended that I go on an elimination diet where I had to eliminate all major allergens such as dairy, nuts, gluten, soy, eggs.
70% of Americans have a dairy intolerance. A lot of dairy can send many of us to the bathroom. It is also inflammatory which means it generally causes an inflammatory response in the body.
When I had to eliminate all these things, the entire milk aisle was out of the picture. I considered making oat milk but the sugar in most oat milks is harder on the body than the sugar in Coca-Cola. We’re using a whole food flax seed that is a great superfood that can now be used as a milk form and as a much better alternative.

The Importance of Enjoying the Food You Eat
It doesn’t have to take hours and hours to make a good and healthy meal but I think what it takes is planning ahead. What I try to do is go on a big grocery store run once a week and buy fresh, seasonal, healthy ingredients that I know I can use throughout the week. The goal is to have healthy things on hand to be able to cook rather than a bunch of junk on hand.
I also love using recipes for inspiration for meals. You don’t have to follow them exactly but you can get inspiration from them.
Try using fresh herbs to add flavor without adding unnecessary calories, fats, sodium, etc.
Brittany’s Protocol for Feeding Her Family in a Healthy Way
We always have a protein and a vegetable and I try to stay low on carbs. Though, we will have rice or a brown rice noodle occasionally but I focus more on proteins and veggies.
I strive to buy everything organic and 100% grass fed meats. Those are some key ways to keep a varied diet while staying healthy.
